FAQs

Q: Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I accept most major insurance providers including Aetna, Blue Care Network, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum, Priority Health, TRICARE, and UnitedHealthcare. If you don’t have insurance, sessions are $150 per 55 minutes, and veterans may qualify for discounted rates.

Q: Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes. I provide both in-person and secure telehealth sessions. My telehealth platform is HIPAA-compliant, encrypted, and easy to use.

Q: How long are therapy sessions?

Standard sessions are 55 minutes. Each session is personalized to your needs, whether that means exploring coping strategies, processing trauma, or creating space to talk about what’s most important to you right now.

Q: Are you LGBTQIA+ affirming?

Absolutely. I am a gender-affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. You will always be welcomed, respected, and supported—whoever you are and however you identify.

Q: What is your approach to therapy?

I use an eclectic approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused strategies. Every session is tailored to your individual goals and needs.

Q: What should I expect at my first session?

Before your first visit, you’ll fill out digital intake forms through my secure patient portal. During our first session, we’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your goals, and how we might work together.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Missed sessions without notice may be charged the full rate.

Q: Do you work with veterans and their families?

Yes. As an Army veteran myself, I am committed to supporting veterans and their loved ones. I offer therapy for PTSD, trauma, reintegration, and family challenges. Discounted rates are available for veterans and their families—please call to discuss.

Q: What if I need urgent help?

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 immediately. I provide all clients with my direct phone and email to reach me between sessions if something urgent arises.

Q: Where are you located?

My office is located in Birmingham, MI, serving the greater Detroit Metro area. You’ll find a comfortable therapy room and a small waiting area with coffee, tea, and water to help you feel at ease.
